Put It In Writing

"Start writing, no matter what. The water does not flow until the faucet is turned on."
-Louis L'Amour

It's frustratingly true: the only real way to get through writer's block (or to get started on a project to begin with) is simply to write. Luckily, there are a number of things you can do to help yourself get to the point where you pick up your pen and the words start to flow.

This week's prompts are all about writer's block. Some are story ideas that revolve around an author in the midst of a block, and others are actual methods of getting over writer's block. Pick one, and get writing:

1.      Write a story inspired by the most recent text message you received.
2.      Write as story about a writer with a very unusual method for overcoming writer's block.
3.      Write a story inspired by the last sentence of any book you own.
4.      Write a story about an author who has just started writing again for the first time in a couple of years.
5.      Write a story inspired by the quote: "One sure window into a person's soul is his/her reading list."
-Mary B. W. Tabor
